Lion Dance Kids is a dynamic performance arts team that uses the traditional Chinese lion dance to inspire and educate young Australians about Chinese culture.

Rooted in a legacy that spans over 95 years, we honour the richness of tradition while embracing modern teaching methods that foster inclusion, creativity, and personal growth.

Our team is made up of passionate teenagers and young adults who thrive in a safe, supportive environment. Through cultural exploration, team-building, and leadership development, we cultivate respect—for heritage, for one another, and for the communities we serve.

Established the Hong Kong Leung Cheung Martial Arts Academy

Leung Cheung - Martial Arts Instructor (Sydney Chinatown)

Great Grandmaster Leung Cheung arrived in Sydney. Assisting Chinese Community groups forming Martial Arts Classes

Established Australian Leung Cheung Martial Arts Academy

Located on Sydney Sussex Street in Chinatown, Grandmaster Leung Cheung opened his dojo to Australians from all walks of life

Established Traditional Bone Setting Clinic (Sydney Chinatown)

A Chinese Medicine practitioner treats bone fractures, concussions, sprains and joint dislocations through pulling, repositioning and aligning avoiding any invasive procedure.

Founded by Master Johnny & Kwan LEUNG.

Leung Cheung (梁祥)

Great Grandmaster

Great Grandmaster Leung established Martial Arts School in Hong Kong since the 1950's. After migrating to Sydney in 1970's he started a school in Sydney's Chinatown. Great Grandmaster Leung was well known in the Chinese Community for his generosity and dedication to teaching youth. Great Grandmaster Leung passed away in 1997.

After studying under his father in Hong Kong he was sent to refine his skills with many renowned martial artists around China, Skilled in the various art forms including Weapons, Hand Forms, Lion & Dragon Dancing.
